Scrapbooking Room
|
|
This client is a busy attorney and a prolific
scrapbook artist. Her project room houses her scrapbooking supplies, a
television, and a home office. She would like her project room to contain
all of her scrapbooking work but because she does not have sufficient
horizontal workspace, she often takes her work into the dining room. Her
plans for the project room include adding a bunk bed for her visiting
grandchildren and improvement of her home office so she can work at home
more efficiently.
We created a plan that addressed all these elements and included a
detailed floor plan with specifications for shelving and storage.
Our client completed the work on her own. This is a great example of how
important it is to have a plan! |

|
Because her workspace was so cluttered, our client ended up spreading out
her scrapbooking projects in other rooms of the house. Her goal for the
project was to contain all her scrapbooking in one room, with plenty of
room to work and all her supplies visible and accessible. She also wanted
to create a space for her grandchildren to sleep when they visit. |
She removed the wallpaper and painted the room a warm, beautiful “camel”
brown. She had track lighting installed, and built work stations and
storage shelves on her own, as per our plan. The wall under the window is
now a spacious home office space where she is able to work from home one
day a week. |

|
|
This corner of the room held the TV, printers, and two counter height work
stations for doing scrapbooking projects and storing supplies. |
Our
client kept one counter height work table that she really loves. It
stayed in the center of the room, and there is plenty of room underneath
to store projects in progress. |
|
 |

|
|
This “alcove” held several cupboards for storing scrapbooking supplies.
Our client had used some of the wall space to hang up some tools and
supplies. She wanted to put bunk beds in this space for her grandchildren
to use when they came to visit. |
Instead of bunk beds, she found two futon chairs that both she and her
grandchildren love. When they’re not being used as beds, they’re a
comfortable and attractive addition to the room. |

|
 |
|
This wall of the room held a couch, and our client's beautiful antique
camera collection on shelving on the wall. |
We
recommended that our client install as much shelving as possible to store
her many craft supplies. She transformed this wall into a beautiful and
functional work station, with a counter height work bench, storage
underneath, adjustable shelving on the walls, and a cork board for hanging
tools, accents, and even displaying a photo or two. |
|

|
 |
|
Our
client
had several pieces of furniture and shelving that she no longer wanted.
After giving them to family members, she had room to create the storage
that fit her needs. |
This side of the room has a desk height work station and more adjustable
shelving on the wall, with a magnetic board for hanging tools and
supplies. The new gift wrap station fits neatly behind the door. |
|
 |
 |
|
More beautiful, innovative, and very functional storage
systems that our client installed! |
